Junior Achievement of South Western Ontario
BE A JA VOLUNTEER TODAY!
Junior Achievement of South Western Ontario has been delivering programs in the cities of Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton for over 40 years. This has been made possible not only because of our community and corporate donors (see 2008-2009 Sponsors) but because of the dedicated volunteers that deliver our JA programs.
Last year alone over 100 volunteers delivered educational JA programs directly to youth in our communities. You too can help educate our youth and help prepare them for the future by Volunteering for JA!

Grade 9-12 – After School Company Program
Time Commitment: once a week for 22 weeks plus training
This program is our longest standing program that teaches youth the true skills of entrepreneurism. Program runs from the middle of October until the end of April with breaks during the Christmas season as well as school exams. We end the year with our Annual Evening of Excellence that takes place in May.
Qualified volunteers, in partnership with educators, enter the classroom to teach Junior Achievement programs. In the process of delivering these programs, they help to shape the future career paths of students. JA volunteers act as positive role models and mentors by sharing personal knowledge and experience. They strive to enhance the personal growth of students through experiential learning and they demonstrate values such as:
Integrity (honesty, reliability, and ethical behaviour)
Mutual Respect (treat all individuals with respect and dignity)
Quality (strive for excellence and improvement)
Business Ethics (observe the standards and policies of the business, education and Junior Achievement communities)
Volunteerism (commit the time required to deliver Junior Achievement programs)
